Tim Cox

The Institute of Biosensing Technology

Tim Cox started his research career with a PhD studying liquids using optical spectroscopies at Cambridge University. He has worked in laboratories in government, in industry and, for the last seven years, in the Institute of Bio-Sensing Technology at the University of the West of England where he   brings together companies and academics to solve important bio-sensing challenges in life sciences and engineering. Research highlights include porous silicon based light emitting devices and microfluidic analysis systems. Current interests include the processing of real world samples prior to analysis with biosensors and also the detection of very low concentrations of volatiles.
