Dr Ze Ji, Lecturer in Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Cardiff University
Dr Ze Ji is a lecturer in Robotics and Autonomous Systems at Cardiff University. He had held multiple positions as a robotics and autonomous systems researcher and engineer in both academia and industry (Dyson, Lenovo, and Autonomous Surface Vehicles). He obtained his PhD from Cardiff University, followed by a few years’ experience of EU research projects, including SRS (Multi-Role Shadow Robotic System for Independent Living), IWARD (Intelligent Robot Swarm for Attendance, Recognition, Cleaning, and Delivery), and ROBOSKIN (Skin-based technologies and capabilities for safe, autonomous and interactive robots).
His broad experience in robotics encompasses service robots, autonomous surface vehicles, and humanoid robots. His research interests include simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM), human robot interaction, computer vision, acoustic and tactile sensing, AI, and machine learning. His research interests include simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM), robot navigation, situation awareness, computer vision, sensor fusion, acoustic and tactile sensing, AI, machine learning, task planning, and knowledge representation.
